About Us
As a young boy growing up in Michigan, I was on my paper route when I noticed a group of pigeons flying over, rolling down and going back up to the group. I stopped to watch these colorful performing pigeons and was able to talk with the owner who later became my best friend.
It was not long before I was raising rollers, muffed tumblers and fantails. Raising birds was a great hobby and kept me out of trouble. However, after going to college I started dating a beautiful young lady and my attention was not with my birds. After we were married, I once again found time for my birds....after a long while we had two children and my attention was on my children so I did not have time for any pigeons.
Sooo, over the years there was a long period when I did not have any pigeons. Now that I am retired and living near Kalamazoo, I have more time to spend with my pigeons, so about 8 years ago I decided to start raising saddle fantails again.......and it has been really fun and rewarding.
We have been living in Michigan for the summers and Arizona for the winters, so with my wife's help we designed a mobile loft to transport my birds back and forth (see picture on left side).
My goal is to raise only the best marked saddle fantails with show features and enjoy the friendship of others that love fantail pigeons.
Update: 1-10-11...at the National in San Diego, my saddles received 1st in young black saddle hen class and 1st in young AOC saddle hen class with an ash red saddle.
This is a picture of the pair I purchased from Dennis Soares.
